Textured Cowl Crochet Pattern
Description
This textured cowl crochet pattern is an intermediate level project that results in a beautifully textured accessory that is perfect for the colder months. The finished cowl measures 28" in circumference and 7" in height, making it a cozy addition to any outfit.
Materials
- Less than one skein of Lion Brand Woolspun yarn in Plum or 127 yards of any bulky size five yarn
- Crochet hook size L (8.00 mm)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Stitch Terminology
- CH = chain
- SL ST = slip stitch
- HDC = half double crochet
- FL HDC = front loop half double crochet
The Pattern
Round 1
CH 50, Join with a SL ST to form a circle making sure not to twist. (50)
Round 2
CH 2, HDC in 3rd ST from HOOK, HDC in every ST around. (50)
Round 3
CH 2, *HDC in 3rd LOOP in back of the first ST from the previous row, in the next ST FL HDC, repeat around. (50)
Round 4 to Round 12
Repeat Round 2 and Round 3 alternately.
Fasten off yarn and weave in loose ends throughout with yarn needle.
Notes
For help with the 3rd loop and FL HDC stitches, refer to the accompanying pictures. Gauge is approximately 6 sts for every 4".
