Forever Crochet Scarf Pattern - A Free Crochet Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Less than two skeins of Red Heart Soft Yarn in off-white or any medium four weight yarn 350 yards
- 6.00 mm J crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- PUFF (as worked in this pattern): yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, {yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over, and draw up a loop} three times, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook
- SC = single crochet
- ST = stitch
- CH = chain
- YO = yarn over
- FPSC = front post single crochet
Notes:
- Gauge is approximately 6 SC for every 4 inches
- Each puff is approximately 0.5 inches
- Finished Size = 8.5 inches width & 47 inches length

CH 21
ROW 1: In the 2nd chain from the hook, SC, PUFF in next ST, SC in next 16 stitches, PUFF in next ST, SC, turn. (20)
ROW 2: CH 1, starting in the 2nd ST from the hook, SC in each ST across, turn. (20)
Continue following the pattern steps for each row until you reach ROW 137.
Scarf Border:
Round 1:
Do 3 SC in the last ST to form a corner. Along the long edge, work 136 SC evenly (1 for every row space along long edge). Work 18 SC along the short edge (1st row of scarf).
Continue working the border as instructed until completion.
Border Edge:
CH 1, SC in the same stitch as the last SC. Work along the long edge of the scarf, SC in every stitch across, ending with the last SC in the 2nd ST of the corner, turn. (136)
CH 1, FPSC around the 1st SC from the previous row. FPSC around every SC from the previous row across. (136) Slip stitch to the 2nd ST of the corner.
Finishing:
Weave in loose ends throughout with a yarn needle.
