For best results we recommend that you follow these simple guidelines in selecting your image:
Head shot or upper body, the simpler the background the more detail you will have of your subject. Good colour and contrast between subject and background works best. Selfies or photos taken close up to the subject with a flash will tend to bleach out colour tones and are not recommended.
5 EASY STEPS TO CREATE YOUR MASTERPIECE:
Step 1. Click the "Choose Image" button to begin looking for the image you'd like to use. We accept all image qualities, but to get the very best results, choose an image with lots of colour, which is non-pixelated.
Step 2. Select your desired size. The bigger the canvas size, the less detail is lost, so we highly recommend you choose a larger size (at least 40cm across) to guarantee the best result. Please note that we will select landscape or portrait depending on the image that you upload (unless you specify otherwise).
Step 3. Now select the number of threads you would like. The more you select, the greater detail of the painting. If you're uploading an image with lots of detail and shades, it's best to choose a higher number of threads! Then, select your thread type, based off your preference.
Step 4. Verify your image is uploaded correctly by checking to see if there's a file attached to your order. If all looks good, hit "Add To Cart." or checkout instantly with your chosen provider.
Step 5. Proceed to checkout as usual. You're all set! If you want to be extra sure everything went through, you can click or tap the image link attached to your order to download and verify the image as we have it on our end.

Will my photo actually work?
Most do. The best results come from a clear head-and-shoulders shot with good light and some contrast between your pet and the background. Very dark, blurry or heavily flash-lit photos lose detail once they're charted.
If you're unsure, send it to us before you order and we'll tell you honestly whether it will stitch well — and suggest a size that suits it.
I've never cross stitched before. Is this too hard?
No. Your pattern comes pre-printed onto the Aida fabric and your threads arrive pre-sorted and labelled, so there's no counting from a blank grid and no guessing which colour goes where.
Cross stitch is a single repeated stitch — if you can thread a needle, you can do this. Choose 11 count for the largest, easiest squares to start with.

How long does it take to stitch?
It depends on size and fabric count. As a rough guide, a 20x30cm (8"x12") pet portrait takes most people around 20–30 hours; a 40x50cm (16"x20") is more like 60–80 hours.
It isn't a weekend project — that's rather the point. Most people stitch a little each evening and finish over a few weeks.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are typically dispatched within 3-5 business days as each kit is custom-made. Delivery times vary by location - UK orders usually arrive within 5-7 days, international orders may take 10-14 days.
What fabric count should I choose?
For beginners, we recommend 11 count Aida - the larger squares make it easier to see where to stitch. More experienced stitchers often prefer 14 or 16 count for finer detail in their finished piece.
Can I change the size after ordering?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify your order. We can often accommodate changes before production begins, but once your pattern has been created and threads sorted, modifications may not be possible.

My colour legend is wrong. I am doing my friends wedding photo. Her hair from the legend is indigo, the grass brown, I haven’t studied the rest. I have tried to contract through the chat and then through instagram. I am in Australia so I am only replying during my daytime hours but the replies from the company are slow. I would not purchase from here again. I gave 2 stars as they have replied so I have some faith they will try and fix.

My first kit last year was printed much better then this one.the thread codes have too many that are similar and not printed to match on the fabric. I have to read the printed chart for too many stitches. My first kit was much easier to follow on the fabric.
