Welcome to our crafting corner where we love to create all sorts of charming and functional items for our stitching space! Today, we will show you how to make a delightful Ort Jar and Scissor Caddy to keep your area organized and beautiful.

Ort Jar

An Ort Jar is a decorative container used to collect your thread scraps and small pieces of fabric while stitching. Not only does it keep your workspace tidy, but it also adds a touch of whimsy to your crafting corner.

Materials:

  • Mason jar or any clear glass jar
  • Fabric scraps
  • Mod Podge or craft glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut your fabric scraps into small pieces.
  2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or craft glue to the outside of the jar.
  3. Start sticking the fabric pieces onto the jar, overlapping them slightly for a collage effect.
  4. Continue until the entire jar is covered in fabric. Let it dry completely.
  5. Your Ort Jar is now ready to use!

Scissor Caddy

A Scissor Caddy is a handy organizer for your stitching scissors, keeping them within easy reach and preventing them from getting lost in the clutter of your workspace.

Materials:

  • Cardboard tube (from paper towel roll)
  • Decorative paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Measure and cut the cardboard tube to your desired height.
  2. Cover the tube with decorative paper, using glue to adhere it to the cardboard.
  3. Make slits in the top of the tube to insert your scissors. You can also decorate the caddy with ribbons or stickers.
  4. Your Scissor Caddy is now complete!

These charming projects will not only keep your stitching space organized but also add a touch of personality to your creative corner. We hope you enjoy making these DIY items and have fun using them in your crafting endeavors!
