Simple Striped Crochet Blanket Pattern - A Free Crochet Pattern

- 3 different colors of medium weight (4) yarn. Recommended: Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand
- Yarn needle
- Scissors

Gauge: 12 dc for every 4", finished size depends on starting ch. Learn more about color changes in crochet. Written in standard US terms.
Color Pattern used: 8 rows of turquoise, 2 rows of linen, 2 rows of navy, 2 rows of linen, 2 rows of turquoise, 2 rows of linen, 2 rows of navy, 2 rows of linen, 4 rows of turquoise, 4 rows of linen, 2 rows of navy, 2 rows of linen, 2 rows of turquoise.
Pattern:
Row 1: Ch an even number with the first color of choice (e.g. 64 chains), starting in the 4th chain from the hook dc, double crochet in every chain across. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in the 4th chain from the hook and in every chain across. Turn.
Row 3-?: Keep repeating Row 2, changing colors as per your desired blanket size. Refer to a blanket chart for guidance.
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in loose ends.
Border:
The border is optional. Join in linen after the last color, double crochet evenly around the outside of the blanket, doing 4 double crochets in every corner. When you reach the beginning double crochet of the border, slip stitch and chain 1, single crochet in every chain across the outside of the blanket, doing 4 single crochets in every corner. When you reach the beginning single crochet, slip stitch and fasten off the yarn.
