Pattern Instructions:

Round 1:

I started by chaining 72 and then joining with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a circle, making sure not to twist. (72 stitches)

Round 2:

Chain 1, skip the first chain, in the next chain half double crochet 2 times, *skip 1 chain, half double crochet 2 times in the next chain, repeat around from * ending with 2 half double crochets in the last chain, slip stitch to the top of the first half double crochet.

Round 3:

Chain 1, in the first skipped stitch space from the previous round, do a puff stitch, chain 1, *in the next skipped stitch space do a puff stitch, chain 1, repeat from * around ending with a skipped stitch, slip stitch to the top of the first puff stitch.

Round 4:

Chain 1, starting in the first chain 1 space, half double crochet 2 times, skip 1 stitch, *half double crochet 2 times in the next skipped stitch, skip 1 stitch, repeat around from * ending with 1 skipped stitch, slip stitch to the top of the first half double crochet.

Rounds 5-15:

Repeat rounds 3 and 4 to continue the pattern and create the body of the cowl.

Round 16:

Repeat round 3 for added puff stitch detail.

Row 17:

Chain 1, slip stitch into each stitch around, ending with a slip stitch into the first slip stitch of the beginning of the round to finish off the cowl.

Finishing:
