Waffle Stitch Crochet Dishcloth Pattern - A Free Crochet Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Less than a skein of We are Knitters The Cotton yarn
- 3.75 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Crochet Stitches + Abbreviations:
- dc(s) = double crochet(s)
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- ch(s) = chain(s)
- fpdc(s) = front post double crochet(s)
- rep = repeat
Notes:
- Ch 2 at the beginning of the rows count as a stitch
- The pattern is written in standard US terms
- A waffle stitch is created by chaining a multiple of 3 such as 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, etc. and adding 2 more stitches to that multiple. You’ll always use a starting chain of 3 + 2 when crocheting a waffle stitch.
- Finished Size: 7.25″ x 7.25″ inches

To Start: Chain 32
Row 1: dc in 4th chain from hook and in each stitch across, turn.
Row 2: ch 2, *fpdc in next stitch, dc in next 2 stitches, repeat from * until the last 2 stitches, fpdc in next stitch, dc in top of chain, turn. (30)
Row 3: ch 2, *dc in next stitch, fpdc in the next 2 stitches, repeat from * until the last 2 stitches, dc in next stitch, dc in top of chain, turn.
Row 4 - 19: Repeat rows 2 and 3, ending with a row 2
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in loose ends with a yarn needle.
