The Blanket Pattern

Foundation Row:

With Color A, chain the number of stitches according to the size you are making.

Row 1:

Start in the second chain from the hook and half double crochet (hdc) across, changing to Color B halfway across. Continue hdc with Color B to the end of the row. Turn.

Row 2:

Chain 1, hdc in the back loop of each stitch across until halfway, then change to Color A and hdc in the back loop of the remaining stitches. Turn.

Row 3:

Chain 1, hdc in the back loop of each stitch across until halfway, then change to Color B and hdc in the back loop of the remaining stitches. Turn.

Row 4 onwards:

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach the halfway point of the total rows, then switch the color order for the remaining rows. The specific row counts for each size are provided in the pattern.

Finishing

Once you have completed all the rows of the blanket, fasten off the yarn and weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle. Your modern square blanket is now ready to be used or gifted!
